Spirituality

The Daughters of St. Mary of Providence live their special vocation by supporting the clients, staff and families at St. Mary of Providence – both spiritually and through their work in vital positions within the organization.  The Sisters are guided by the spirituality of Saint Louis Guanella and the Blessed Clare Bosatta who led lives of action and contemplation which sustained their ministry of charity along with a life of prayer.  Believing in the Providence of God, their lives are a reflection of the providential love of the Father for each person.

Catholicism is the foundation for the care and training provided at St. Mary of Providence.  As a Catholic facility, Catholic religious services are offered to all Catholic residents and day students each day.  Our curriculum includes religious education that is provided to our residents and day student of all faiths appropriate to their level of understanding.  It is our belief that our residents will grow in a richer spiritual life when religious opportunities are voluntarily pursued.

St. Mary of Providence

All residents are welcome to participate in the services offered by St. Mary of Providence.  As Chaplain at St. Mary of Providence, Fr. Tom Mulcrone celebrates weekly Masses with the residents and day students.  During the year, the residents participate in a variety of religious activities (such as May Crowning and special stations during Lent.).  The Sisters pray the Rosary with the residents three to four times per week.  Feasts and religious holidays are celebrated together as a facility and Sodality is offered once a month.

Transportation is provided for those residents who wish to attend services of other faiths.

St. Mary of Providence welcomes anyone interested in the celebration of Mass with our residents and staff. Daily mass is celebrated at 7 a.m. Weekend Masses are celebrated either Saturday evening at 5 p. m. or Sunday Morning at 10:30 a.m.
